How Story Harvest works
Share your link
Toast writes an invitation you can change, with your own private link. Send it however you like: a message, an email or the group chat.
They send a memory
Friends add their name, how they know the couple and their story. They can type it, or record a voice note of up to a minute. No account and no app.
You choose what to use
Stories arrive in your inbox, and we email you when new ones come in. Star the best, choose Use it for the rest, or Leave out any you would rather not use. Voice notes are turned into text for you.
Into your speech
With Story Harvest, the stories you keep reach your drafts, starred ones first. You can also swap a friend's story into any paragraph.
Questions that bring out the best stories
Toast's invitation asks for a memory, a moment, anything that sounds like them. If you want to nudge people, these prompts work well:
- When did you first meet them, and what did you think?
- When did they show up for you?
- Which trip, night out or disaster do you still talk about?
- What do they always say, do or carry with them?
- What changed when they met their partner?
- What do you hope for the two of them?
Short is fine. One true detail is worth more than a long tribute.
Who sees the stories
- Only you see the stories sent to you. The couple doesn't.
- Before sending, each friend agrees that their story is shared with you and processed by AI to help write the speech.
- Voice notes are deleted 90 days after the wedding, or 12 months after they were sent if no wedding date is set. The written story and the transcript stay with your speech.
- You can stop collecting at any time, and we never use the stories to train AI models.
What it costs
Collecting stories is free. For the stories you choose to reach your drafts, add Story Harvest for €10, VAT included, once per speech.
Questions about Story Harvest
Do my friends need an account?
No. They open your link, add their name and their story, and send it. It takes a minute.
Will the couple see the stories?
No. Only the speaker the link belongs to sees the stories. The couple hears the best of them in your speech.
Can friends send a voice note?
Yes, a voice note of up to a minute, which Toast turns into text for you. If voice notes are not available at that moment, they can type their story instead.
Can I use Story Harvest whatever my role?
Yes. Every speaker on Toast can share a link, whatever their role.
Can I stop the link?
Yes. Choose Stop collecting and the link closes, so nobody new can send a story.
